Sin
wondered when he’d moved so close to her, not that she was
complaining. She smelled his aftershave, exotic and spicy
and the muscle ticking in his right cheek captured her
attention.
“You…um…you…what were you going to say?” she whispered while
her heart two-stepped inside her chest.
His breath bathed her face. “Did you know that
my wife and I are in the middle of a divorce?”
Sin’s eyes flew open wide. “When? I mean, I
didn’t know. No. You didn’t say anything.”
His lips twisted slightly. “It’s been going on
a while now. Should be final sometime next week, God
willing.” He wound the lock of her hair tighter around his
fingers and Sin saw the blonde strands mingling with his
bronzed skin. She didn’t think her stomach could take any
more tension.
“So what are you trying to tell me?”
“You’re not the only one who’s attracted here.”
When had time stopped? Sin couldn’t
breathe and thinking faded as well. She wanted to touch
him, to explore every inch of the hard, masculine flesh
she’d dreamed about every night for the past twelve months.
“Are you telling me the truth?”
“I’ve never lied to you.”
She closed her eyes. “And your wife? Is it
really over? No chance of reconciliation?”
“My marriage was over long before we met. In
case you’re wondering, you had nothing to do with our
separation.”
Sin resisted the urge to fall into his arms.
“So what happens now?”
“Whatever you want to happen.”
