The year is 2647, and on planet Tergon, Sierra Merritt, heir to Merritt Industrial, stares glumly at her embossed wedding invitation.  Sierra is married to her job, with no room for another “husband,” of any kind.  Enter the groom, Jack—Jonathan Bain Wright the Third, a Tergonian shapeshifter and major shareholder in Wright Enterprises.  Neither bride nor groom wishes to marry a partner sight unseen and think a merger should end at the business level, with the old tradition of “marriage” left to the older crowd who actually believes in happily-ever-after.
